This Mountain Radio EU kit includes two award-winning, license-free Mountain Radios, operating on PMR446 frequencies for use across Europe. Created with climbers and skiers in mind, this compact and durable radio is ready for any adventure where communication is critical.
A specialized lithium-ion battery delivers 3–5 days of life, even in extreme cold. For durability, the radio features a shatterproof LED screen, a tough thermoplastic covering, and a secure carabiner + back-up leash system—far stronger than fragile plastic clips found on other radios.
Operating on the 446.0–446.2 MHz UHF band, the Mountain Radio EU transmits at the maximum power allowed without a license (0.5 watt). The radio has a tested max line-of-sight range of 40+ kilometers—though 1–5 km is typical in mountain terrain.
Simple and reliable, the Mountain Radio EU works right out of the box with zero setup required. Its five intuitive buttons and quick privacy code access make communication effortless and interference-free.
